Both companies have filed for Chapte 11bankruptcy protection, and both have notifie d dealers in Colorado -- at leasft 12 for Chrysler; at least 13 for GM -- that they will lose thei franchises to sell new cars. "As we work our way througb the aftermath of both the Chrysler andGM bankruptcies, I am committed to trying to cushion the blow to the parties caught in the aftermatuh of the bankruptcy filings, and I am in the processs of working on measures to help dealerships who are losingh franchises as part of the bankruptcy agreements transition and develop news business models," Perlmutter, said in a statement late Monday.
Perlmuttef is a member of the Housew FinancialServices Committee. "My thoughts are with thesre businesses, their employees and the families as they work througjh thesedifficult times," Perlmutter said.
